        "title": "Disappointing Experience – Not What I Expected from Fairmont",
        "snippet": "Having stayed at several Fairmont hotels, I was extremely disappointed that this experience fell short of the standards I have come to expect from the brand. It was my first visit to Jaipur, and sadly, the hotel let us down.\n\nUpon arrival, I had been looking forward to the warm welcome Fairmont is known for, with traditional music and flowers being showered from above. Unfortunately, none of this happened, which was disappointing as it was something I had particularly anticipated.\n\nThe breakfast was average, and we were disappointed to discover that one of the restaurants was closed without any prior notification. We were also given two drinks vouchers, only to discover that ordering a cocktail required using both vouchers. This was not made clear upfront and felt rather misleading.\n\nAt breakfast, we were asked at least three times during a single visit which room we were staying in. This felt unnecessary and made the service seem disorganised.\n\nOne of the biggest disappointments was the noise caused by a school group staying at the hotel. In the evenings, students were running up and down the corridors, playing in the lifts and even using the ground-floor bar as a place to play hide-and-seek. I work in a school myself and fully understand that children can be noisy, but this behaviour was unacceptable in a luxury hotel where other guests are paying to enjoy a relaxing stay.\n\nThe management could at least have asked the group to keep the noise to a reasonable level. We were assured that the group was staying on the first floor, yet the children in the room next to ours were repeatedly banging on the door and making considerable noise well past 10 pm. This significantly affected our ability to relax and enjoy our stay.\n\nWe were also not informed about the construction right outside our room. The noise started early in the morning. \n\nI also felt uncomfortable by the pool, where four male staff members, including security, were standing and watching. I appreciate the importance of staff being present for guests’ safety, but the way this was handled made me feel uneasy rather than relaxed.\n\nOverall, we had hoped for a peaceful, luxurious holiday in Jaipur, but unfortunately, this was far from the experience we received. Between the disappointing welcome, average breakfast, lack of communication, confusing drinks vouchers and failure to manage the noise from the school group, the stay fell well below expectations.\n\nHaving experienced other Fairmont properties, I expected a much higher standard of service, attention to detail and guest experience. Sadly, this visit was a real let-down, particularly on our first trip to Jaipur.\n\nPS clean the balconies as you don’t want to see bird remains the moment you open your curtains or a net hanging over the window.",
